Camp Ax 2016 (November 11-13, 2016)

TBSS recently held its 2nd annual Camp Ax this November 11-13 in Austin, TX.  Camp Ax is a retreat for teen and young adult burn survivors who have aged out of pediatric burn camp.  The purpose of the retreat is to reconnect young people at a crucial time in their lives, provide support, and share valuable life experiences. Participants from across the state of Texas enjoyed activities at the Austin Fire Department Training Academy, a boat ride down Lady Bird Lake, K1 racing, and a tour of the University of Texas campus and Tower among others. We are grateful for firefighters Sarah Coon, Daryl Burns, and Jimmy Casares from the Austin Fire Department who volunteered to organize this special weekend
