Twenty Years of Camp David

Camp David 2015 was a week long 20th-anniversary party celebrating Texas Burn Survivor Society’s hosting pediatric burn survivors, their siblings, and children of burn survivors for 7 days of fun and adventure.  We had the largest number of campers ever – 58.  It meant a great deal to all the campers and volunteers that David Jayne was able to join us on Fire Fighter Wednesday.  In 1995, David and his wife, Jane, wanted to provide pediatric burn survivors with a carefree week during which young burn survivors didn’t have to worry about taunts or people staring at them.  Over the years, the camp has taken place at various locations in central Texas.  Since 2006, camp has been held at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, and we look forward to many more years there. Our 2016 camp will be July 10-16, and we’re looking forward to beginning the next 20 years of Camp David!
