May 6-8, 2016, TBSS was privileged to host 88 wounded warriors and family members during our 9th Wounded Warrior Family Mother’s Day Retreat. Held at the rustic Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas, attendees enjoyed horseback riding, hayrides, swimming, fishing, and lots of great food. Children and dads crafted special gifts for the mothers, who were treated to massages, manicures, and pedicures. One attendee wrote, “It was a much needed and welcome reprieve from the stressors that accompany all of our lives. From the moment we set foot on the grounds of the Ranch until the moment we left we were treated with nothing less than absolute and genuine kindness… It was an extremely therapeutic event which gave both my wife and children and I time to reconnect as a family. It also gave us another opportunity to spend time with and share our stories as well as hear the similar stories from other very special people.” They are all very special people indeed.
