We had another great year at Camp David, with 47 campers attending. In addition to the regular camp activities, the San Antonio Firefighters Motorcycle Club, Brother’s Keeper Motorcycle Clubs from Waco and Killeen, and Riders United 4 Children visited again this year to share the fun and take pictures with the children sitting on the bikes. We were also treated to a visit by Sparky, the San Antonio Fire Department mascot; an active Kerrville Fire Department ladder truck, hose truck, and EMS vehicle. This year, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus joined us as well. That very busy day ended with the carnival, complete with popcorn, cotton candy and a wide assortment of inflatables and water rides, provided by Austin firefighter and Camp David volunteer John Boucher. KSAT 12, the ABC affiliate in San Antonio, also had a well-done story about camp. You can view it on our Facebook page or at https://www.ksat.com/news/young-burn-survivors-bond-with-first-responders-at-camp-david. A big thank you goes to the parents, campers, and all our volunteers and guests for making Camp David #23 a week to remember.
